I seem to be settling in a little already. so of course now I get the urge to fill up my schedule, and spend loads of time online as well... I've caught up on all my webcomics, so that addiction hopefully won't take up huge blocks of time, but I just started on the backlog of planetkde blogs... maybe it's a good thing that I've been too lazy to set up an ssh proxy; half the blogs I read are blocked. I'll probably deal with that sometime in the next couple of days, though.
last night I practically fell asleep in my book. at least it's a chinese book... manga, actually. I don't understand a lot of what's going on, but the pictures make it easy enough to skim over stuff that doesn't make sense and still follow along well enough that I get caught up in hte story and forget about sleep :) later 'll probably go back and look up a bunch of words and try to understand the plot properly.
the urge to code is getting stronger, though... kopete needs a qq plugin, all the plants and birds n'stuff here have gotten me thinking about artifical life again, and I've had some ideas for chinese edutainment programs too - kde hasstuff for japanese, but pretty much nothing for learning hanzi. and I really need to work on my reading skills.
oh yeah, and I should go eat. skipping breakfast was bad. just staying up until 11 reading made me too tired to get up in time for breakfast... if I actually start programming again I fear that I might not go to bed until far too late. besides, I should upgrade to feisty first, and that'll probably cause enough little issues to keep me busy for a while. actually, I'm thinking I might back up everything to my portable hard drive and do a clean install. kubuntu's accumulating cruft, and I'm getting more and more strange behaviour... personally I don't like these big upgrades, I preferred gentoo's way... but I don't have time for maintaining a gentoo system these days :)
